Sophie is an accounting and finance professional with over 16 years of experience in the real estate industry. She started with FIA in 2009 and manages the accounting, reporting, audit processes and oversight of tax returns for all FIA commingled investment funds and several separate account clients. Previously with FIA, Sophie served in a supervisory role for the commingled fund business as well as a Client Accountant primarily responsible for several commingled funds and certain separate account clients.
Previous Experience
Prior to her time at FIA, Sophie worked as a property accountant for Wood Partners in Atlanta, GA and as a staff auditor at Harper Van Scoik & Co. in Clearwater, FL.
What is your business philosophy?
To continually develop myself and those around me in order to best serve our clients and their needs.
Why did you choose this field / career path?
When I was a young girl, I wanted to own and run a business like my Dad did so I started my education in the College of Business at FSU. Once I took my first introductory course in accounting, I knew that this was the perfect career path for me. It just clicked for me and at the time it felt like accounting was so black and white and had a clear result.
What is one of the best lessons you’ve learned during your career?
That you don’t have all the answers, and you don’t need to have all the answers when you are surrounded by a strong team.
