Maria Gomez Hoyos, CPA
Maria Gomez Hoyos joined FIA as a Senior Technical & Client Accountant in 2024. Her primary responsibilities include the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements for FIA client accounts, with the largest being a diversified United States and Latin American account. She works across both GAAP and IFRS reporting requirements.
Maria is a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accounts. She was born in Bogota, Colombia and is bilingual in English and Spanish.
Previous Experience
Prior to joining FIA, Maria was a Senior Accountant at Yahoo & Cantaloupe Inc. Prior to that she spent two years in public accounting at PricewaterhouseCoopers within their assurance practice.

Why did you choose this field / career path?
Accounting is essentially the backbone of any business – we are responsible for gathering, recording, and providing key financial information that our clients depend on. We are needed in every business, every industry, and every country. Thus, I knew that accounting had the potential to open an infinite number of doors for me in the business world.
What is one of the best lessons you’ve learned during your career?
Listen carefully and learn to anticipate the needs of your clients and those around you. You will always be one step ahead.
