For the third consecutive year, Forest Investment Associates (FIA) has been honored by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) as a Forestry for Wildlife Partner. This recognition highlights FIA’s dedication to sustainable forest management through the Forestry for Wildlife Partnership, a voluntary program that has been fostering conservation and responsible forestry practices for over 30 years.
This year, FIA’s ongoing conservation efforts align with the Bobwhite Quail Initiative and the State Wildlife Plan, emphasizing wildlife-friendly and conservation-driven practices. Key efforts include preserving wetlands used by rare amphibians and protecting endangered Chapman’s fringed orchid.
“At FIA, we believe that responsible forestry and conservation are inseparable. Being recognized again by the Georgia DNR is a true testament to the dedication of our team and partners in implementing sustainable forestry practices that balancing economic and environmental priorities,” says Chad Lincoln, FIA Operations Manager, Southern Region.
FIA appreciates the continued recognition from the Wildlife Resources Division, Governor Brian Kemp, and First Lady Marty Kemp, which highlights the importance of sustainable forestry in Georgia. We also acknowledge the dedication of our team members and forestry consultants throughout the state for their leadership in promoting sustainable forest management.

SUSTAINABLE FORESTRY PRACTICES IN ACTION
“FIA is humbled to receive this recognition and is committed to continued partnership in our environmental stewardship,” remarked Mike Cerchiaro, FIA’s President and CEO. “With our headquarters in Georgia since 1986, to be recognized by the DNR and Governor of our home state is an incredible honor.” Cerchiaro continued, “The conservation practices recognized here in Georgia are emblematic of the approach FIA seeks to bring to our forestry investments across the United States and Latin America. By maintaining healthy working forests, we not only provide essential wildlife habitat but also ensure the long-term productivity of our landscapes. Partnership and alignment with local conservation priorities and needs is an important way we can ensure our clients’ forests are positioned for a resilient ecological future that underpins long-term forest value and returns.”
With over 90% of Georgia’s forests privately owned, collaboration between landowners, government agencies, and conservation groups is essential for maintaining both economic and environmental stability. FIA is pleased to actively support the Wildlife Resources Division’s research projects, partner with conservation organizations, and integrate biodiversity-focused management strategies into working forest management. This year’s partnership emphasizes habitat restoration and wildlife monitoring as key priorities.
PLANNING AHEAD
At FIA, we are committed to managing forests with long-term vision – ensuring sustainability while enriching our environment and delivering value to our partners and clients. Moving forward, we remain committed to supporting strong relationships built on trust and responsible forestry practices.
